Weekend Recaps .
I remember “pretending” to run from the boys who were either trying to grab my a$$ or breasts in high school. Oh my, I’ve come a long way from those days. Or have I? Even though I turned 30 years old this year, I still feel like I’m high school when it comes to dating.
Why? OK, for example.
Boy meets girl.
Boy likes girl and asks girl for her number (e-mail).
Boy waits three days after getting the number so that he doesn’t give girl the appearance as though he’s “sweating” her.
Girl then waits another two days (after receiving boy’s number) to call boy because she doesn’t want to give boy the appearance as though she’s sweating him.
And then the EFFING game continues!
*Scratches Head*
Let’s take it back to grade school, when things were a little more simple. When we used to pass notes that read:
Do you like me? Check Yes____ or No____
Do you want to be my Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Check Yes____ or No____
All that BS, I don’t want to make her/him think I’m sweating her/him is CRAZY. If you like someone, let them know. I think there should be a rule that if you’re 30 and older the games STOP. It should be OK to say “I really like you.” Now, if the person you’re saying those words to you, doesn’t feel the same way he/she would say “I don’t like you.” Simple right?
ABC, it’s easy as 123. As we grow older, I think we make relationships more difficult than they really need to be.
