Reflection: Tiffany’s Story

I can’t really stress that quote anymore on this blog!  I know as humans we tend to look for the “good” in people and sometimes, there’s nothing good left.  Tiffany should have walked away when his fist connected to her body.  As much as she loved him, she should have let Reggie go and moved on with her life.  Maybe she thought he would change and him hitting her was a one time deal.  After all she’s known this man for YEARS.  He disrespected her when he put his hands on her body and again by not telling her the truth about his dealings with other women. 

In last week’s HERstory, Tricia had the strength to walk away after she got hit.  This week, Tiffany decided to stay.  As women, we need to determine what our worth is and never allow anyone to devalue us.  No man should ever raise his fist to a woman.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

We live in a society where “casual sex” has become more popular than sliced bread.  While I don’t object to adults having casual sex, I feel as though women need to be prepared for the consequences of having casual sex.  Especially if your desire is to have more than just a casual sex relationship. 

My advice to all women, if you want something more than just casual sex relationship, I don’t think you should open your legs until you’ve established a formal (boyfriend/girlfriend) relationship.  While a formal relationship may not prevent a man from cheating or beating on you, I think you definitely have a leg to stand on when and if you start to question the relationship.

When a man tells you, “You’re not my girlfriend, I don’t owe you anything,” yet continues to reap the benefits of having a girlfriend from you, it’s time to let him go.  He’s already let you know what your title is and what your title will continue to be - the F*CK Buddy.  In addition, if you’re in a heated argument and he calls you everything BUT your first name - LET IT GO!  Tiffany should have left Reggie a long time ago….

i think what he means is that she ‘accepted’ that position and put herself in that predicament….if she wanted to be more than that, she was the one who could have put a stop to it.
