Computer Love

In this age of technology and social networking, internet dating has become a very lucrative business. Every day there’s a new Match, E-Harmony, Yahoo Personals popping up on the internet. There is even ‘niche’ dating sites, if your tastes reflected around interracial dating you can find that, or if you’re into the big & beautiful, yup there’s a site for you too.

Nowadays, you don’t have to leave you house to find a date or a quick hook up. You can go the free route with Craigslist, or pay the subscription fees that other sites charge. Either way, the dating world is basically at the tips of your fingertips.

But is there a quality v. quantity issue in regards to internet dating? In the DC area, it’s not uncommon to run across someone who knows someone else that you’ve met, coupled with the internet, the chances of dating someone your girlfriend or guy friend has dating, is pretty much bound to happen.  It’s like a pokemon trading game. You have to pass a photo around to a female friend and ask, “Do you know him? Have you dated him?”. LMAO!

So, my question is, if you’ve done the internet dating thing, what is your biggest complaint? If you haven’t ventured out to find a date via the internet, what is your main reason in not doing so?

I have been doing the internet dating thing since I got my first computer back in ‘99. I started with Black Planet and I was on match.com when it was LOVE@AOL.com! YEA, that far back. I started dating on-line because I wanted to meet other people I wouldn’t necessarily meet on the street. My biggest complaint? I have to foward his picture to ESHA and ask…Do you know him? LMAO….and 7 times out of 10, she says yes! lol…OH yea, we can’t forget the guys who have pictures up from when there were 30lbs lighter. I always request an updated picture. NOT something you took last year! AND of course there are the ones that are out seeking the FREAK of the week…KIM…KEEP IT MOVING PATNA!

Exactly, and the most recent one..?? Shoot, I didn’t know him, but ironically, a girlfriend of mine in NJ was ‘talking’ to him and he’s down here in DC?? I”m mean come on! The world is too small! It pays to never forget a face and the story behind it!

Check out my blog to see just how small the world is indeed, my biggest complaint….just guys who arent truthful about who they are and what they are looking for. They tell you they want a girlfriend when they really just want to fuck or like Sheika said they send you pictures that arent current and not reflective of how they really look.

Dang! Your blog is inaccessible introspectivegoddess. Might be a problem with the server.

Anyhoo, the cartoon posted for this item pretty much sums it all up. You never really know who’s on the other side of the chat.
