There’s No Place Like Home

Weekend Recaps .
As much as I love traveling, I love coming home and being able to sleep in my own bed and use my own shower and bathroom. I don’t care how much of a 5-star hotel a place is, for some reason, I can never get a good night’s sleep in one. While I was in Orlando for the past couple of days, I was able to mix & mingle with some of the biggest Advertising & Marketing executives there are in the business. Forbes, NFL, Zappos, CNN, Facebook and countless other companies were in attendance. I can’t even count how many hands I shook or how many bottles of purell I went through (obviously not enough b/c I feel a cold coming on).
I’m grateful that my job allows me to travel, mainly because it allows me the opportunity to get a break from other things in my life. After the networking functions I attended this week, I spent the majority of my time relaxing at the pool, or sitting in my room in total peace and quiet. I got a chance to spend time with my cousin, who up until this past July, I hadn’t seen in about 10+ years. She broke out the photo album and we bothed laughed at how very 80’s and 90’s we looked back then. She was the quintessential MC Lyte wannabe, and I was this skater girl, with little shorts on & socks up to my knees and a skateboard by my side.
In any event, this next week will be a detox week for me. Detoxing from alcohol and certain meats I swore off, where now I have to start from scratch because I had a meat relapse. I swear, everytime I travel for work or pleasure, I come back 5 lbs heavier! I guess room service and dinner/lunch receptions for 4 days in a row will do that to a person!
So, that was my weekend, how was yours?

We had a public holiday on Monday, so that meant we had a really long weekend!
I got to spend time with an old classmate/friend at a Rugby event that runs for 2 days down here. I swear, I must be growing old because every time I looked up, some girl was walking past in an outfit that made me GAH! I think I must have been the only one dressed in actual fitting clothes. Oh well, at least I know some “old” men who kept me company while there
Of course, there was food in abundance. I must have eaten enough pieces of chicken and packets of chips to feed a small continent even! And here I am complaining about my weight every other time! My appetite is probably going to be my undoing! I cant imagine having fun without including food somewhere in there lmao At least I can take solace in the fact that it all goes to the right places
Oh yeah! The players weren’t too bad to look at either. Especially while they were running around in their tight little shorts and there oh so built uuuuumm personalities ![]()
